FIOS 150/150

Alright so just about 3 days ago I upgraded my FIOS internet from 75/75 to 150/150. But after a couple of speedtests, restarts (router and ONT) and scouring the internet for questions it seems that my ONT is only outputting 100mbps. The 10/100/100 link light on my ONT (ONT1000GJ4) is a solid green, meaning the ont is only outputting 100mbps, instead of 1000mbps.

I'm also hooked up through ethernet (not coax). I have an ethernet (Cat5e) going from my ont in the basement to my own router (Linksys wrt1900ac). All the speedtest record 94mbps down and about 65 mbps up. Is there any solution for this other than calling verizon and running through troubleshooting for an hour.


USB connection on Quantam FIOS router

Is the USB connection on the new FIOS Quantam router is active? I am trying to plug in USB HD in it and does not looks like working. I can plug in new router but then I am afraid that I will loose capabilty of controling my TV on smart phone (as same network).

Chat doesn't work via mobile (that is, tablet), and I don't want to pay twenty bucks on a burner phone just because my internet is down. For crying out loud...

Argh. Well, I found it. At least Google could tell me where it was. Why the heck they hide the **bleep** thing I don't know.

Oh, now I know. Because they aren't going to answer for two business days.

I need to seriously complain to Verizon and have no idea how!

After some inexperienced rep kept me on hold for a good 10 minutes, while I tried to sign up for Global Roaming for an upcoming trip, she forwarded me to her manager. Her manager told me they had dropped global roaming for 'dumb' phones. So I asked her how I could write a formal complaint and she told me to go to the web. I asked to be forwarded to HER manager and she hung up on me!

 

I would like to formally complain about this discontinued service as I used it every year for the past 2 years.

fios ont not drawing from psu

We had an electrical outage yesterday. After power was restored our fios was not working. No tv and no internet. We checked the power source and confirmed it is live and power is flowing. However we opened up the access max sch ont and it is not drawing power. Verizon won't come out til monday. Is there a diy fix for this?

FiOS Quantum Gateway - Edit Port Forwarding Entries

New to FiOS. Installer provided the new Quantum Gateway. 

 

Can't seem to figure out how to edit Port Forward entries on this gateway.  Seems I can only add or delete them.  But once created, no way to edit them to change. So to change anything, I have to delete the existing entry and recreate it.  Pain in the ARSE.

 

Many other awefull interface usage issues on this gateway.  Definately a lot of room for improvement. 

 

...Also couldn't find anywhere to update firmware, so I'm guessing Verizon has no plans to ever release updates for this gateway...

 

Can't Edit DHCP Address Reservations

Can't Edit Port Foward assignments

Can't Release Address Reservations

Can't Convert DHCP Lease to a Reservation AND change the IP you'd like to assign (can convert to a reservation, but only using the IP dynamically assigned originally)

Can't sort tables

Sorting appears to always be based on MAC address, can't sort by IP or Name.

 

Am I missing something?

 

 

How do I downgrade to 15/5 and lower my bill?

I've had FIOS for a number of years, and was used to the $50 a month for Internet only, as I only need internet, I have no need for phone, and I simply don't watch tv. I was extremely disappointed to see my bill grow over the years to now $65 a month just to get on the internet. This is simply a ridiculous price for Internet only. Verizon upped my speed from 15/5 to 15/15, but I simply don't need that. I was happy with 15/5. How do I lower my bill and get back my 15/5? Downgrading is not offered when I log in to manage services. Any help here with lowering my price, or I am jumping ship. Thanks for any help in advance.

Download speed constantly drops near night time.

Hi,

 

For the past several months I've had an issue with my download speed constantly being reduced to around 5-7mbs while retaining the same upload speed.

The verizon speed test results are always irrelevant as my connection never reflects the same outcome that is displayed from their test as to speedtest.net (whenever my connection is fine speedtest.net shows correct results).  I've ran the verizon diagnostic tool and this is the out come result below. If anyone could please help me get an answer for this problem as I've had no help from verizon tech support to resolve this issue I'd appreciate it greatly. Thank you!

Not getting parallel upload!

I have had 75/35 for  a while, when they introduced parallel speeds I signed up for myrewards to get the upload upgrade to 75/75. But since then its been 3 months and I still havn't getten my upload. I figured since I was going to upgrade my speed to 150/150 anyway, that it might fix itself. But unfortunately the issue persists, I only get 150/70. I have called them a few times, only to have my claim esclated to a support ticket and then only to have the support person run me through troubleshooting over and over (3 different times, 3 different people, no solution). Anyone having this issue, or maybe encountered it? If so is there any possible solution to this.

We would like to use a vacation hold. We understand there is a one-time fee for starting a hold, and no fee to restart, and that it can be for up to nine months. But we have some questions:

 

We've read in older forum posts that you must renegotiate a new deal when you restart service. Is this true? We just started a new package. Will the package remain the same when we restart, or must we renegotiate? If the package will remain the same, will that count as x months of the free premium channels?

 

We have FIOS triple play, and the phone number associated with that is a carryover from our former landline, and therefore is the main number that a lot of people call. When we travel, I was going to forward that number to my cell phone (also Verizon). What happens to the Fios phone if we do a vacation hold? If it can't be forwarded, and we do a vacation hold, what will callers hear when they call that number?

 

We'll probably be thinking of some other questions.

When can I expect to receive the voucher for my LG G Pad

I recently upgraded to Quantum 50/50 and am supposed to receive a voucher for a free LG G Pad.  I'm wondering when and how I can expect to receive such a voucher, and once received how long it generally takes to receive the item?  I was hoping to make it a holiday president for a family member but am wondering whether it will come in time.  My upgrade activation date was November 15.  Thanks!

Second wifi router connected to coaxial outlet?

Hi all,

 

I have verizon Fios, with my main router in the middle of the second floor in a centrally located closet. In a room on the first floor that is a converted porch, I have little to no wifi.  The router I have now is a Actiontec Model MI424WR.

 

In this room on the first floor I have two separate in wall coaxial jacks.  One is used for my TV /set top box, but the other is unused.  I would love to be able to plug in something that could give me wifi service in this room.  Any suggestions?  

 

I have previously tried a couple of range extenders, Almond and Linksys, but they dont cover very well, or slow down speeds quite a bit.

What is wrong with Verizon? Well, the fact that I am being charged for a 50/50 plan and have never seen that kind of throughput would be one reason. They sure can add on the surcharges though.

 

Another reason that Verizon absolutely sucks is that their billing practices are deceptive. If any customer gets a quote from a Verizon representative, plan on keeping a close eye on billing.

 

I was recently upgraded to the 50/50 plan. I was going to leave Verizon because they kept charging more and more for their "service" even though I had a contract with them. Verizon does not honor contracts. Now this time, it looks like I am being billed for a router, even though I was told the router and shipping was free, They required me to send back the old router (which I did via the UPS label that was in the new router box), but it appears they are charging me anyway for the router I returned.

 

This time, I am not putting up wiyth any more Verizon **bleep**. On Monday, which is tomorrow, I will contact Verizon and they better give me a credit for the free router they promised. I will not be bullied into paying for something I was promised free. If Verizon cannot fix the problem tomorrow, I make a call to the BBB, the PUC and the FCC. This is the last time I get jerked around.

 

I think this is why Verizon wants online "paperless" billing, so they can sneak charges to people and hope they don't catch it. Verizon, if you performed billing like you did early on with FiOS, you would be fine. Now you are money grubbing snakes.

 

By the way, if you are a Verizon representative and offer help, then give it. The last time someone offered to help, they didn't do a **bleep** thing but promise. I am weary of Verizon promises.

 

 

 

 


League of Legends - Routing Issue From East Coast (Verizon FiOS)

Hi,

 

A lot of people are noting the same issue recently with connecting to Riot Games servers using the Verizon FiOS service from the east coast. It seems that a hop somewhere is causing latency to jump for a lot of users.

 

Although the hop is outside of Verizon's network, is there any way your engineers can contact the backbone provider for assistance? It's tough for a bunch of individual users to get help from a backbone provider but I assume that Verizon would have a bit more luck in both tracing and troubleshooting the issue.

 

The two IP's given for the public to test against Riot's servers are:

 

216.133.234.62
192.64.170.62

 

Can Verizon try tracing from the East coast to these servers and see if they notice where the issue may lie? Again although the issue lies just outside Verizon's network, it's affecting mainly Verizon FiOS users and individuals don't have much luck talking to backbone providers :-(

Can't watch the premium channels online services all of a sudden.

I've used HBOgo, Maxgo, Starzplay, Encoreplay, Movieplexplay, Showtime Anytime, and EpixHD, quite a lot online. They're all included in my TV plan.

 

Now when I try to log in, I get the error "To watch 'X' you need to subscribe to FIOS TV with 'X'."

 

I made no changes, I watched two of these services yesterday, no problem then. So why now am I getting this error?

 

I really can't wait until my contract through Verizon is up, and HBOgo and some of the others allow us to directly subscribe.

Unreturned Equipment charge

I returned all the equipment back in July 2014 and Last month a I got a bill for $2040.00.  I got the UPS confirmation number, but everytime I call Verizon they Either are no help or transfer me to another department that are not help either.  Is there someone or a number I can call to get help. 

Verizon FIOS Wireless Extender set up HELP

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this issue.  Our router is in the garage and the signal doesn't extend to our upstairs bedroom so I purchased the WCB3000N from Verizon to extend the network.

When I first set it up, it seemed to be working fine because my iphone picked up the SSID of our router in the bedroom (which it had never done before).

However the next day, I couldn't get a wifi signal in the bedroom and when I had the iphone look for networks, my router SSID didn't show up on the list.  However, the extender appeared to be showing up with 2 new SSID's  which appeared as E2FB-5G and E2FF-2.4G.  I tried to join these networks and I was asked for a password so I used the same password as the router in the garage but I was unable to join.

Any ideas on how I can either join the extender networks or get my Router SSID to show up again via the extender?  Am I doing something wrong?  Could it be an issue with the iphone?

I have been a loyal Verizon Fios customer for more than 7 years and until this past month I have been a strong advocate, recommending their service to friends and family.  However, based on some recent billings issues and my poor customer service experience trying to resolve this issue, I will never again recomment Verizon Fios.  In fact, I will warn friends and family to stay far away from Verizon. 

 

In October, my family moved and we chose to remain with Verizon.  When signing up for services in the new house, we chose a new package, trying to reduce our monthly expenses.  When I reviewed my bill in November, not only did my monthly cost not go down, they added an additional $500.  When I took a closer look at my bill, the additional charges were either renewal fees for services that I did not want or I was charged twice for services that I did want.  I called customer service and I was advised by the customer service rep that she would submit a request to credit my account for the charges.  After seeing only a fraction of the credits being credited to my account I again called customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor.  The individual that I spoke to (Rick) could not have been less helpful.  After first saying that the request to re-credit my account for the charges was returned to the customer service rep to be recalculated, he then finally admitted that the charges would not be re-credited after I kept pressing him as to when my issue would be resolved.  Rick (the supervisor) indicated that because the charges were related to an auto renewal feature for a service that I signed up for last year and that I did not respond to an email that was supposedly sent to me in September, that the amount was a valid charge.  I asked for a copy of the email that was "sent" to me and to no suprise I have yet to see a copy of this email.  When signing up for the service, it was not clear to me that it would be renewed annually.  Had I known that, I would have NEVER signed up for the service.  This is a SCAM, hoping that customers do not respond to their emails, allowing them to charge the customer for another year of service.  If thinking of signing up for services with Verizon beware of hidden stipulations.  I plan on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my state Attorney Generals office.

 

To date, I have yet to be credited for any charges that were billed to me twice.  Be careful, look at your bill closely!

 

Upon researching this situation on line, it is clear that I am not the only customer experiencing this problem.   Verizon believes that their customers have no recourse in addressing these issues.  For anyone experiencing the same issue, file a compliant with the Better Business Bureau and your state attorney's office to force them to respond to their business practice.
